Your files

Files are opened and processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and we cannot see them. The PDF engines run on your device as code downloaded from this site; once a tool has loaded, it works with your internet connection switched off.

What our host sees

Like any website, our host receives your IP address and the pages and files of this website that your browser requests (for example the page for “Compress PDF” and the code for that tool). It keeps basic traffic statistics for 30 days. It never receives the contents of your documents. We use no cookies, trackers, analytics scripts or advertising, and the site loads nothing from any other company.

What stays on your device

  • Settings such as your default compression level and theme.
  • Remembered signatures, only if you tick “Remember”.
  • Unsaved editing drafts: while you have unsaved changes in the editor, the original file and your list of edits are kept in this browser every few seconds so a crash or reload does not lose your work. They are deleted when you save, or after 24 hours.
  • A local activity log of which tools ran and whether they succeeded, kept for 90 days, with no file names or contents.

You can delete all of this in Settings. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes it.

Diagnostics

If you choose “Save diagnostics file” in Settings and send it to us, we receive a list of the tools that ran and any errors. It contains no document content and no file names. Nothing is sent automatically.

Check it yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. In a desktop browser:

  1. Open a tool, for example Compress PDF.
  2. Open the developer tools: press F12 (or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac) and choose the Network tab.
  3. Drop a file and run the tool. Every request you see goes to this site and loads code; none carries your file. Requests are tiny compared with your document.
  4. Even stronger: switch off Wi-Fi or tick Offline in the Network tab, then run the tool again. It still works, because nothing needs a server.

The site also tells your browser to refuse any connection to other servers (a Content-Security-Policy of connect-src 'self'), so even a bug could not send your file elsewhere.

Children

The site is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
